The Rain You Made

Your beautiful creation
has been pouring,
and I have watched the earth
receive what You have sent.

Still, Lord,
I find myself seeking You
for the protection
of my home.

Is it wrong
to call the rain beautiful
and still whisper,
please let these walls hold?

Teach me
that faith is not pretending
I have no concern,
but bringing every concern
to You.

Give me wisdom
for what is mine to tend,
and peace
for what has always been Yours.

The rain is Yours.
This home is Yours.
And so are we.

From the quiet room of my heart — to God be the glow.
