I am not counting the years; I am loving, living, reflecting, making changes, and holding onto my, Lord through each season of life.
This year is our 10th anniversary. When I look back, I see how Your hand has guided us through laughter and milestones, through challenges that tested us, and through moments that changed us as husband and wife.
As I think about our marriage, I want to see it through the lens of the Book of James. I notice parts of every chapter in our story, times of endurance, wisdom, humility, and faith put into action.
Over the past ten years, I have seen my husband live out many of the things James writes about: patience during disagreements, gentle correction, and steady trust in Your plan. Still, there are areas where I hope for change. Sometimes he keeps things to himself, maybe to protect me or because he is unsure how much to share. I try understand him, but it sometimes leave me wishing for more openness. Marriage, to me, is becoming one without walls. You intended for a husband and wife to become “one flesh,” and this hope is not me casting blame. It is just my prayer for a deeper openness between us.
Through this marriage, You have also shown me a lot about myself. I see how sensitive I am, how old wounds can make me suspicious, and how my wish for perfection sometimes clashes with our differences. I tend to overthink, while he moves forward with confidence. There were times when I overstep my boundaries but thankfully, You helped me see this and gave me the strength to step back, and let my husband lead, and trust that You will guide us.
In these ten years, apart from Your words in the Holy Bible, I have also learned that there is no special guide/manuscript for how to do marriage the ‘right’ way.
The beautiful thing is that every couple’s journey is different, and every love story has its own struggles and blessings. I have also learned that marriage is more than companionship; it is discipleship. It is a sacred place where You soften our edges, teach us endurance, and shape our hearts through each other.
My prayer for the years ahead is simple: may our marriage continue to show Your faithfulness, may Your Word continue to shape us, may Your love be seen in us, and may Your grace keep writing our story.
LOVE
through the years

The Struggle
The blossoms fall, the moonlight bends,
Pain may rise, but His mercy mends.
Our smiles may hide the quiet ache,
Yet faith holds firm; it will not break.

2024 +
To God be the glory
Our journey of companionship continues in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen

The Beginning
The river flows, ten years gone,
Seasons turn, yet Love lives on.
Through storm and sun, through night and day,
God has guided each step of the way.

2024
The hope
Ten years of trials, ten years of grace,
God’s hand is steady in every place.
What comes ahead, we cannot see,
But His will leads where we must be.
