The Table Glows In My Memory

The table still glows in my memory,
their laughter echoes inside me
my children’s bright eyes shining,
My husband’s steady smile is near mine.
Tears of joy blur the city lights,
My heart beats too fast to name it,
Heaven feels near, right here,
as if the Lord Himself brushed past our dinner table.
I always love every moments with my family.
The warmth, the nearness, the beauty
Yet even now, my heart knows
This is not what I worship.
For my family is a gift, not the Giver.
The joy is sweet, but it points beyond itself.
And so I whisper thanks, trembling
to the One who set this grace before me,
to the God who holds us together,
to Him be the glory, forever.

To God be the glory.
