Through the Window

Through the window of our room,
I watch the city fall silent,
not a single person in sight.

The trees glow with light,
brightening the stillness of the night.

I turn around
and see how rich I am;
my family sleeping safe and sound.

These days together,
our moments away from home,
feel like a celebration of Your goodness.

I think of how long I get to love them,
to travel, to wake in beautiful places,
to share simple joys as one.

In this moment,
I give You glory.

For this life,
these memories,
this family;
it is all by Your grace.

From the quiet room of my heart — to God be the glow.
