From Paralysis To Peace
One truth the Bible continues to show me is that You reveal Your plans and truths gradually and not all at once. This perfect timing helps us grow in deep faith and trust. When winter held me in silence, I believed something in me was breaking. I called it spiritual paralysis because I didn’t know what else to name it. My soul felt unmoving, my prayers empty, my heart heavy.
But now, God, I see what I couldn’t then: the stillness wasn’t punishment, it was preparation. You slowed me down because I was moving too fast. You quieted me because my thoughts were louder than Your voice. You held me still so I wouldn’t outrun what You were trying to reveal.
My husband spoke of peace. Dr. Stanley spoke of the valley. My pastor spoke of Jesus resting in the storm.
And slowly, the pieces formed a truth: You were teaching me peace not after the storm, but in it. Now I stand in a different season, understanding that what felt like paralysis was You anchoring me.
I see it clearly now: You were in it all. the valley, the silence, the slowness, the waiting, and the rest. All of it was You, teaching me how to hear You in stillness before You changed anything around me. So now, as I step into peace,my heart whispers back to You.
Thank You for the storm that didn’t drown me, the silence that didn’t break me, the rest that held me stead, and thank You for being the anchor when I could not move.
The journey is not finished. There will be other valleys and other seasons I do not yet understand. But this season has reminded me of something I have known for far longer than I realized: You have never left my side. You were with me as a child, and You are with me still. Somehow, remembering that changes everything. Thank You!
